Pawn
Stars Card - A scene from an episode in a
parallel universe near you
LEGO-like facts:
I have created a game that I am increasingly
enjoying. I let many sources of
information on many different topics run together in my mind - and then
I mix and match the facts from one topic to another.
So, let's say I'm watching a short video on the nature of solar storms,
but before the video starts, an ad about
constipation runs. Well rather than segregate the two topics in my
mind, I sort of invite them to hang out together there and play
dressup with each other's facts. It's quite enjoyable. Try it.
The comic above came about in just this way. I was watching The History
Channel, which, by the way, is a great place
to play this game - anyway, I was watching a show there explaining
parallel universes, or Multiverse Theory as they
called it and because The History Channel is all over the place with
their programming topics, they kept running ads for their show, Pawn
Stars. I quickly allowed both topics to mingle in my mind - I
encouraged it.
Now, according to Multiverse Theory, there are an infinite amount of
scenarios that are born at each moment we experience. In other words,
your next Thanksgiving turkey will explode in a parallel universe
somewhere. Or you will, in another.
So that means in the Multiverse/Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars mashup, I realised that
absolutely anyone or anything is walking into the pawn shop in some
parallel universe somewhere. The queries and demands they make as they
walk into
the shop are also infinite - which I know you'll agree, is
awesome.
And even if you don't agree, I know you are agreeing somewhere. Of
course, you are also exploding somewhere. I'm sorry about that.
